Background

This was a US-based game developer and publisher started by Norman Sirotek. The company was closed in 1998, but their Canadian subsidiary survived until 2003, when it was folded.

1st Logo (April 1995-1996)

Logo: It's just the word "SIR-TECH" in italics and bold font. Usually it has navy blue color.

Technique: None.

Variants: There are several animated variants:

  • Realms of Arkania: Shadows over Riva: A wizard throws his energy ball which unravels the logo starting from the center. Then a light streak runs the upper outline.
    • The demo version for the latter contains different logo. The light ignites in background and white letters zoom in from there one by one. After done, the light ceases and "PRESENT" comes below.
  • Jagged Alliance: Deadly Games has the logo shining and also with "PRESENTS" just below.
  • Nemesis: A Wizardry Adventure has "PRESENTS" in marine-colored 3D font.

Music/Sounds: None for the still version. The variants are also silent.

Availability: Seen on most of their early-90's games.

2nd Logo (December 7, 1995-1996)

Logo: The old type of logo appears as well, but under the picture of red dragon in angry pose watching to the left. It stands on the red line contracted to the word length.

Technique: None.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Very rare. Was seen on Druid: Daemons of the Mind and Wizardry Gold (where it's smaller).

3rd Logo (1995-1997)

Logo: We see the stylized image of human hand turned fingers-down with the blue sphere in the center. The glow shines from beyond. There is "SIRTECH" word below.

Technique: CGI.

Music/Sounds: An electric humming.

Availability: Extremely rare. Appeared on the North American releases of Telstar games Excalibur 2555 AD and Armed & Delirious.

4th Logo (1999-2001)

Logo: On a dark background, we see blue metallic-type SIRTECH word with the half of maple leaf to the left (actually the logo is for Canadian subsidiary). The logo appears from darkness with ripple effect. Then the website is typed below: www.sir-tech.com. A shine occurs on the last letter.

Technique: CGI.

Music/Sounds: Very gloom and somber humming soundtrack with excessive fading out and the sounds of website typing.

Availability: Appeared on Wizardry 8, Jadded Alliance 2 and its add-on Unfinished Business.
