Background

On May 1, 2013, Skydance Media launched a television division, hiring Marcy Ross as division president. Carolyn Harris joined the company as vice president a month later. It didn't use an on-screen logo until 2014.

1st Logo (July 27, 2014-August 13, 2021)

Nickname: "The Front of the Sun on TV"

Logo: We see a flash of light that dims to reveal a shortened version of the 2010 film logo, with "TELEVISION" replacing "PRODUCTIONS" and a trademark symbol next to it.

FX/SFX: The flash of light dimming. Like its movie counterpart, it's done by Picturemill.

Music/Sounds: The last four notes of the theatrical logo's fanfare by Pinar Toprak.

Availability: Common. First seen on Manhattan, and was later seen on Grace and Frankie (with the last episode to use this being "The Circumcision"), Ten Days in the Valley, Altered Carbon, and the first two seasons of Condor and Jack Ryan.

Editor's Note: Even though Skydance updated their movie logo in 2016, this logo continued to be used throughout the 2010s.

2nd Logo (September 24, 2021-)

Nickname: "Above the Sun on TV"

Logo: On the same background as the current Skydance Media logo, we see the letters in "SKYDANCE" zooming out. Once they are almost finished zooming, a flash of light draws an arc underneath as "TELEVISION" is seen being wiped in.

Variant: On Foundation, the logo is shortened to the final few seconds.

FX/SFX: The letters zooming out and the flash of light drawing the arc.

Music/Sounds: So far, none.

Availability: Current. First seen on Foundation and later on Reacher. This logo is expected to be seen on future shows from the company.

Editor's Note: Only time will tell if the fanfare from the last logo will be used.
