Background

Sooty Films was a company owned by Matthew Corbett that held all intellectual property rights to the Sooty franchise that Matthew's dad, Harry Corbett, created in the 1950's.

In 1996, in order to prepare for his retirement from the franchise, Matthew sold the franchise over to the Global Rights Development Fund, who formed Sooty International Limited. The Sooty Films name remained as a subsidiary.



1st Logo (September 6, 1993-December 14, 1998)

Visuals: On the same background as the end of the Sooty & Co. intro is the animation from the end of the same intro, but Little Cousin Scampi is not there. Sooty writes with his wand "A SOOTY FILMS PRODUCTION" in red. Under that word is "FOR GRANADA TELEVISION" in black.

Variant: Starting in 1995, the text above is replaced by the yellow word "Sooty" and below it was the word "F I L M S". "FOR GRANADA TELEVISION", this time was not arched.

Technique: Traditional animation by Cosgrove Hall Films, who animated the intro sequence for Sooty & Co. as well.

Audio: The end theme of the show.

Availability: Seen on Sooty & Co.

2nd Logo (September 27, 1999-December 11, 2000)

Visuals: Over a light blue marble background is Sooty. Behind him is a blue oval, and In front of him is the Sooty logo. Below it was the text "A SOOTY FILMS PRODUCTION FOR GRANADA TELEVISION".

Variant: On the second season of Sooty Heights, the logo is within the Granada Media Children's logo.

Technique: A still graphic.

Audio: Same as before.
