Sooty International Limited
Background
Sooty International Limited was a subsidiary of the Global Rights Development Fund, itself a subsidiary of the Bank of Yokohama, that acquired all intellectual property rights in relation to the Sooty franchise from Matthew Corbett and his company Sooty Films in 1996. The company's aim was to expand the Sooty franchise internationally.
In 1999, the company sold 50% in the property over to The Britt Allcroft Company (later named Gullane Entertainment), forming a joint-venture called Sooty Limited. Following the sale of the Sooty property to Richard Cadell in June 2008, the fate of the Sooty International company remains unknown.
