Background

Sooty Limited, also known as Bridgefilms, was a joint-venture between Sooty International Limited (Global Rights Development Fund, subsidiary of the Bank of Yokohama) and Gullane Entertainment/HIT Entertainment that held all intellectual property rights in relation to the Sooty and Magic Adventures of Mumfie franchises.

In October 2007, following many failed attempts at producing a new Sooty series for ITV, HIT Entertainment put the company up for sale. Britt Allcroft re-acquiring Mumfie in March 2008, while Richard Cadell acquired the Sooty property under his company Cadells Limited in June 2008, ending the guise of Sooty Limited for how it was.
