Background

Stoopid Buddy Stoodios is an animation studio that usually works with stop motion. It is a subsidiary of Stoopid Monkey and Buddy Systems. The company was launched in 2011, but did not use a logo until the following year.

1st Logo (September 9, 2012-December 7, 2014)

Visuals: On a white background there is a silhouette of the monkey from the current Stoopid Monkey logo run up to a silhouette of a person. The monkey jumps up to give the person a hi-five. The logo zooms out and the logomark "STOOPiD BUDDY STOODiOS" wipes in.

Technique: Flash animation.

Audio: An acoustic guitar note when the logo begins. The monkey makes a joyful chuckle, and a clap sound effect is heard when the hi-five is given.

Audio Variant: On the Robot Chicken DC Comics Special, Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler's laughter is heard in the background, which has been doctored with echo. Also, a "SMACK" sound effect is heard when the hi-five is given, as opposed to the clap sound effect in the normal variant.

Availability: First seen on the Robot Chicken DC Comics Special, and later on the sixth and seventh seasons of Robot Chicken.

2nd Logo (October 8, 2015-)

Visuals: There is the person's silhouette being cut out of white paper on a black background, then the monkey's silhouette runs up like before and hi-fives him. When this happens, a spotlight focuses on the center of the background as the letters in "STOOPiD BUDDY STOODiOS" in white appear in mid-air and fall into place. We see that the logo has its own shadow, making it 3D.

Variants:

  • A shorter version exists on at least Ultra City Smiths.
  • On Santa Inc., the logo is still and shares the screen with the Point Grey Pictures logo.

Technique: Stop-motion animation.

Audio: A paper-cutting sound, followed by the same as before.

Audio Variants:

  • Sometimes, the ending theme either trails off into the logo or plays over the logo.
  • Otherwise, it's silent.
  • On the pilot episode of Crossing Swords, the last part of the Hot Streets ending theme is briefly heard at the beginning.

Availability: First appeared on SuperMansion, and then on season 8 of Robot Chicken. Also appears on Hot Streets on Adult Swim, Camp WWE on the WWE Network, Crossing Swords and M.O.D.O.K. on Hulu, the short-lived Buddy Thunderstruck on Netflix, Ultra City Smiths on AMC, Santa Inc. on HBO Max, and the special Mickey Saves Christmas, among others.

3rd Logo (June 17, 2018)

Visuals: This logo parodies the Amblin Entertainment logo, where Elliot and E.T. are replaced by an upside-down boy (likely it's supposed to be Armpit from the Robot Chicken episode "Rabbits on a Roller Coaster") on a bike, the black background is replaced by a dark blue background, the blue-red lines are replaced by the blue-teal lines, and "AMBLIN ENTERTAINMENT" is replaced with "STOOPID BUDDY STOODIOS".

Technique: Flash animation.

Audio: An E.T.-esque theme, which is heard on the episode's sketch. Composed by Randall Crissman.

Availability: Only seen on the Robot Chicken episode "Why is it Wet?".
