Background

This is the production company of Kevin Sullivan.

1st Logo (December 1, 1985-April 11, 1993)

Logo: On a gradient blue background, we see the orange text "SULLIVAN", with "FILMS" underneath it, sandwiched between two lines. Above it, a rounded rectangle made of black and white lines (this is meant to represent a TV screen) wipes in from top to bottom. A white ray comes from the left, reflecting to a red-blue-green ray.

Variant: In early years, the rectangle is already shown and the lines are formed like a "V". The spark is animated differently.

FX/SFX: The rectangle is drawn, and the ray moving.

Music/Sounds: A short piano/string tune.

Availability: Rare. Still available on Road to Avonlea episodes, but sometimes has been plastered with the next logo. It originally appeared on Anne of Green Gables (1985) and its sequel Anne of Avonlea, as well as Looking for Miracles and Lantern Hill, but modern prints replace it with the next two logos. On the DVD releases of Anne of Green Gables (and other shows), it is removed.

Editor's Note: None.

2nd Logo (January 9, 1994-December 21, 1997)

Logo: On a white background, a flash appears, revealing a glass version of the TV tube from the last logo, zooms out. The camera moves, and then the rainbow surrounds them, as we move to a cloud background on the bottom as the black 3D text "SULLIVAN ENTERTAINMENT" folds in below the TV tube.

FX/SFX: CGI animation.

Music/Sounds: A short soundtrack made of four deep trumpet entries.

Availability: Appeared on rereleases of Looking for Miracles and on VHS releases of Anne of Green Gables, plastering the previous logo, as well as later episodes of Road to Avonlea and early episodes of Wind at My Back, but it was replaced by the next logo on DVD releases.

Editor's Note: None.

3rd Logo (December 21, 1998-December 14, 2008)

Logo: We see several filmstrips passing by, with a Sullivan films' frames on them. Then they swirl down in a cloud of lighty dots and freeze above the source of light, converting to a solid blue and red strips. The dots move down and form "sullivanentertainment" words.

FX/SFX: Moving filmstrips with color dots.

Music/Sounds: Same as the last logo.

Availability: Appears on Wind at My Back episodes and massively replaces the first two logo on DVD releases.

Editor's Note: None.

4th Logo (2011?- )

Nickname: "Rippling Water"

Logo: We see a lake surrounded by trees at sunset. There is also fog around it. The camera pans down to the reflection in the lake so we can see the water rippling as well as the reflection of the sun in it. The logo fades to a better view off said reflection and zooms out so it's on a black background on which the words "SULLIVAN ENTERTAINMENT" fade in below in yellow.

Variant: Sometimes, the logo is slighty extended, and the website's URL fade in on the top.

FX/SFX: The effects and camera movement around the water and scenery—very gorgeous and well done CGI.

Music/Sounds: We hear two bird calls as well as crickets chirping in the background, which then cuts to the theme from the 3rd logo.

Availability: Can be seen on (at least) reruns of Anne Of Green Gables: The Animated Series on Qubo. It also appears on the "Kids Talk About" segments of the show uploaded on Sullivan Entertainment's YouTube Channel. Other appearences were in the promos of some programs, like YT broadcasts of Road to Avonlea.

Editor's Note: The sudden trumpet fanfare after the bird calls and cricket chirps may be off-putting the first time, but overall, this is a very peaceful and beautiful logo.
