'''Summertime Entertainment''' was an animation studio that produced only one movie, the 2013 animated film ''Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return'', which, despite a troubled production of eight years, premiered at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival in France on June 14, 2013 before being released in the United States and Canada on May 9, 2014. The studio was founded by Ryan and Roland Carroll, brothers who had previously ran Alpine Pictures, a studio that made several low budget films. Summertime Entertainment had plans to produce two sequels to ''Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return'', as well as a television series based on the film. However, due to the film's poor reception, both critically and financially, those plans were abandoned and the studio and its website were both shut down around 2015. Its Facebook page, however, still remains up as of 2024, though it has not shared any new posts since promotion for the film's home media release in August 2014.
