Background

TAKI Corporation (タキ・コーポレーション) was a video distribution and production company in Tokyo, Japan. They were primarily responsible for promoting movies and producing their home video releases. The company was active from the early 1990s until 2010, when they filed for bankruptcy, and were later reincorporated as Odessa Entertainment (オデッサ・エンタテインメント).

1st logo (1996-2000)

Logo: We see the explosion of bluish-white particles on the black background, then a rainbow brush stroke draws itself in. After it draws itself, the word "TAKI" in Times New Roman Bold zooms in and glows. Then a light brown box appears below, with "Corporation", in Brush Script MT, writing itself in.

FX/SFX: The rainbow brush stroke drawing in.

Music/Sounds: A rising string note, complete with the announcer saying "TAKI...Corporation."

Music/Sounds Variant: A variant exists where the announcer is excluded. this was used for a short time as used for Voltage Fighters! - Gowcaizer – The Movie.

Availability: Extremely rare. Can be seen on a few tapes from the period, such as Sonic the Hedgehog OVA (including its English dub) and Voltage Fighters! Gowcaizer: The Movie.

2nd Logo (2000-2011)

Logo: The entire sequence is 13 seconds long. The video fades in from black to CGI animation of a moving lava mass. In the centre of the screen, a circle begins to rotate in the middle of the magma. This circle continues to rotate like a planet, resembling the planet Mars, while the rest of the screen fades to black. Suddenly, a black T is stamped onto the Mars, which continues to rotate. The text "taki corporation" appears in white under the Mars, and the sequence ends.

FX/SFX: The logo features some basic CGI animation, mainly in creating the magma, making a shape from it, and then rotating it. There are also basic lighting effects and transitions typical of early 2000s visual design. The font used in this logo is Papyrus.

Music/Sounds: The logo is accompanied by an upbeat marimba sample. An electronic effect, similar to a sound effect for a spaceship taking off, plays when the planet begins to take shape. There is also a synthesized "whoosh" sound effect as the black T appears.

Availability: Very rare. This logo can most often be found on Taki Corporation DVD releases throughout the 2000s.
