Since both are almost exactly the same in terms of concept and animation, just that the 2003 version is cheaper, I'd say those logos should be merged. After all, the 2007 version of the 1995 20th Century Fox Television logo, the 2008 version of the 1992 20th Television logo, and the 2008 version of the 1998 Fox Television Studios logo all look different from the original versions but are still counted as part of the same logo as the originals.
