Idea I had.

Should we change the variation pages' format to "(Company X)/Logo Variations", thus making the pages subpages of the company pages? --DisneyInternationalFan (talk) 13:49, 6 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

I think yes! I think that way is more efficient Logohub (talk) 14:48, 6 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
I'd also suggest doing the same with Print Logos. Hb1290 (talk) 01:46, 8 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Hb1290 I agree! --DisneyInternationalFan (talk) 02:59, 8 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
Just made a new template to go at the bottom of pages so people can easily click between main logo pages and their subpages: Template:PageButtons. Hb1290 (talk) 11:23, 8 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
I actually think it'd be better suited for the top, but what you see fit. --DisneyInternationalFan (talk) 11:41, 8 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
I agree, apart from anything else it works better on mobile that way. Hb1290 (talk) 12:00, 8 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
I also think we should make each parameter (par the "Main" and maybe "Logo Variations" ones) optional, like here. --DisneyInternationalFan (talk) 12:44, 8 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
I'm in favor of this idea anyways. TheAmigo67 (talk) 08:47, 19 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. We had the titles the same way at the old site. PackMasterFlash (talk) 02:41, 12 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
Let's say you're making a website. You have to add the title of the page for the tab. I.E.: "Name of site" and let's say you make an "About" page. The title of the tab will say "Name of site - About". That idea you had is good but it's likely to throw people off. I should know because I took website classes back in my junior year in high school. PackMasterFlash (talk) 02:55, 12 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
I see what you're saying, but MediaWiki has that covered. The way page moves work on Mediawiki, the old title becomes a redirect to the new one, so people can still use the old title if they want. Hb1290 (talk) 03:00, 12 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
Besides, that may have been fine on WF, but having these as subpages just makes more sense from a site organisation perspective on Mediawiki. Logo pages and variations pages weren't very well connected on the old wiki, doing this site navigation becomes quite a bit simpler and pages relating to the same company are much better linked together, which is especially important since we don't have the sidebar to scroll through like on WF. You're talking to an old pro who used to edit at Wikipedia. PackMasterFlash (talk) 04:39, 12 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
Furthermore to add, other admin must either support, comment, or oppose. So far there hasn't been other admin to join this discussion.PackMasterFlash (talk) 04:18, 19 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
How about now that Hb1290 is an admin? Does the retitling count as legit or not? --DisneyInternationalFan (talk) 14:43, 13 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

You know, another idea I had is to put the variation pages in their own namespace. Logohub (talk) 03:43, 14 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Bumping because you are all admins now, you have to reach a verdict. --DisneyInternationalFan (talk) 03:29, 1 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
Support. My position is unchanged. As much as what we've got made sense originally, having them as subpages of their main pages makes much more sense here on MediaWiki. Plus, it means I can greatly simplify Template:PageButtons so it automatically uses the root page name rather than us specifying that parameter. And as for Shadeed's concerns about confusing people, we can just leave the old titles as redirects if needed. Hb1290 (talk) 03:44, 1 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
to be honest, what we have now is fine. The pagebuttons template allows easy navigation, and using subpages might clutter the search suggestions.
Now I might sound controversial, but I don't think we need the subpages system. Wikipedia does not use the subpage system afaik, and the subpage system messes with pages like MGM/UA. Logohub (talk) 13:57, 3 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
