Background

Tallinnfilm is the oldest surviving Estonian film production studio, founded in 1931 as Estonian Culture Film, When Estonia was annexed by the Soviet Union, it was nationalized as the Kinokroonika Eesti Stuudio, and then renamed several times until becoming known as Tallinnfilm in 1963. After the Soviet Union was dissolved in 1991, its production operations were shut down.

Logo (January 13, 1964-December 25, 1991)

Visuals: On a blue background, there is a jagged letters "TF" in a trapezoid-like style. There is a 2 lines resembling arrow separated it, and the star on the left, with the words "TALLINNFILM" appeared in Russian (for Soviet releases outside Estonia) or Estonian (for non-Soviet Estonian releases). On the right, there is a lamp holding on a 2 lines separated below the "TF".

Variants:

  • There is a black and white version which used from 1957 to circa 1974.
  • Early releases between 1957 to 1969 has the light shining on the lantern part of the lamp. This would be appeared in B&W or color.
  • On some films until 1984, the year stamp appears below the logo.
  • On Linnutee tuuled, the print version of the Tallinnfilm logo is seen on the top along with the MTV logo in the middle and the Magyar Televizio logo on the bottom. Each logo has its own text notice saying:

A Magyar Rádió és a Magyar Televizió
