Background
Targem is a Russian game developer founded in 2002 and based in Ekaterinburg. It was purchased by Nival in 2005.
1st Logo (2003)
Visuals: A big light blue diamond revolves in dark background, the dark energy suddenly envelopes the diamond, turning dark purple and zooms out while it happens. The background suddenly lights up the bottom of the diamond shines brightly that materializes the glowing white 3D word "TARGEM" from light strips, turning it silver and losing the glow around when finished materializing, and the word shines while the background and the bottom of the diamond dims.
Technique: 3D/2D computer animation.
Audio: A single ominous stab, then a kind of electricity noise when the word materializes followed by the shining sound.
Availability: Only seen on the trailer for Battle Mages.
2nd Logo (2003-2004)
Visuals: A black pencil-drawn scarab struggles with his dirt ball, pushing it up the hill until it grows very large and suddenly drops over the edge, bounces down the slope and breaks into fragments. A small diamond pops out of the rubble and into the screen, faintly blue with the name written above it.
Technique: 2D computer animation.
Audio: Sounds of scuffle as the bug moves.
Availability: Seen in Battle Mages.
3rd Logo (2005-2010)
Visuals: A scarab rolls his ball made of metal debris and enters into the hatch, which closes and zooms out to reveal the scarab-shaped machine. It begins to struggle and finally opens a small hatch at the rear, dropping a metal egg. The egg cracks in two and the diamond appears, shining. Then everything other disappears and the name fades in beside the diamond.
Technique: CGI.
Audio: Sounds of the action: bug struggling, machine working and a shine.
Availability: Seen in Ex Machina and its sequel Meridian 113. The still version was found on the next games Sledgehammer and Symbiont.
4th Logo (2011-)
