Background

Teakwood Lane Productions is the production company of 24 showrunner Howard Gordon, housed at 20th Television (previously 20th Century Fox Television) and later at Sony Pictures Television starting in 2019. The company is named after 18 Teakwood Lane, the street that Gordon lived on while growing up in Long Island.[1]

Logo (March 8, 1999-)

Visuals: On a black background is a sepia tone image of a front view of a house. The image then glows to cross-fade into a outlined recreation of the house as the company name is partially wiped in below. Faint light rays shine from outside the furthest left window.

Trivia: The house depicted in the logo is the house Howard Gordon grew up in. The window from which the light protrudes is that of Gordon's bedroom, which reflects his adolescence as "anxiety-filled, dream-laden and industrious".[1]

Variant: A shortened version exists.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: A 4-note piano theme composed by Michael Hoenig, with a reversed cymbal crash and twinkling corresponding with the animation, and ending with crickets chirping. Starting in 2008, it's only the last sound, albeit different from before. Otherwise, the end theme of the show.

Availability: It debuted on the short-lived 1999 show Strange World and was later seen on the 24 franchise starting with the TV film 24: Redemption. It also appears on the failed pilots of Company Man and Anatomy of Violence, Homeland, Awake, Legends, Tyrant, Second Chance, and Accused (2023).
