Background

Television Program Enterprises is a television syndication distribution company formed by Al Masini, who also formed Operation Prime Time and it was owned by TeleRep. It was merged with Rysher Entertainment in 1993. Al Masini, meanwhile formed his own production company to continue producing TPE's shows.

(September 17, 1983-September 2, 1995)

Nicknames: "TPE", "Streaking TPE"

Logo: On a black background, the letter "T" "streaks" in from the left, "P" from the top, and "E" from the right with streaks following these letters. The letters are filled in blue. Above the letters reads "TELEVISION PROGRAM ENTERPRISES" with red lines above and below it, and below "A DIVISION OF TELEREP, INC." with lines in a similar fashion.

Trivia: The "TPE" logo type font is also the same seen on Telerep's logo seen on Broadcasting Magazine's adverts.

Variants: The logo sometimes appeared without animation. The logo also would be chromed-in on the scenery background of the show. Another version has it starting on the scenery background of the show, then the background turns black as the logo animates.

FX/SFX: The "streaking" in of the letters.

Music/Sounds: None or the closing theme of the program.

Availability: Extremely rare. Was once seen on episodes of Star Search and Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous from the period, but TPE-distributed shows nowadays are probably updated with the Rysher, or Paramount Domestic Television or CBS Television Distribution logos. This was also seen on the short-lived 1988-89 version of Triple Threat with Jim Lange as well. The still version was seen on a few episodes of The Smurfs on KidsWB.com but they have since been removed.

Editor's Note: None.
