Background

Telewizja Polska (TVP) is the public broadcasting corporation in Poland. The history of television service comes back to the 1930s, but due to the events of World War II, regular service was launched in 1952. The company probably had no logo on production until 1997.

1st Logo (1997-2003)

Logo: A white object quickly zooms away from the screen, revealing a misty blue background. The white object then splits into 3 white letters reading "TVP", all in a custom font and the "T" having a longer line than usual. They all spin in different directions while splitting even further apart. After they rest into a comfortable position, several bars zoom out to surround the logo while a line of text reading "TELEWIZJA POLSKA S.A." and 2 pairs of RGB bars quickly fly around the screen. They all collide together to form the 1992 TVP logo, glowing brightly before it dies down.

Variant: On television shows, the logo plays at a faster rate and is videotaped. Also, a light on the top wipes in the Agencja Filmowa logo, which is the text "agencjAFilmowa" in mostly an typewriter font but the middle 2 letters are large silver letters. The top bar of the "F" also has the text "TVP SA" on top. The letters then zoom in towards the screen, slightly tilting backwards before stopping as the logo behind it fades out.

FX/SFX: The parts zooming in, the lines moving, the AF mark moving.

Music/Sounds: A synth pad with a 9-note electric piano tune, followed by a metallic clang/splashing sound timed to the logo changing color/AF letters swinging down.

Music/Sounds Variants: A high-pitched version exists.

Availability: Rare. Appeared on several movies, like E=mc2. The abridged version appeared on The Hexer.

2nd Logo (2003-2006)

Logo: On a white background, the current TVP logo is seen (a blue rectangle with the "TVP" part from the 1992-2003 TVP1 logo seen in white, but connected together and in a modified font). Below it is "TELEWIZJA POLSKA" in the same font as the logo.

Variant: Some works have the logo decreased.

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: A short jingle.

Availability: This still logo appeared on Komornik, Pogoda, Żurek and other films.

3rd Logo (2006-)

Logo: Over a blue space, multiple glowing lines form the logo, and we pan over the action, until the ready ethereal logo becomes full-view. It has the blue box with three white sections, each occupied by a letter of "TVP". Below is the glowing white name "TELEWIZJA POLSKA".

Variant: On Mała Moskwa, the background was black and the name was in two lines.

FX/SFX: Great animation.

Music/Sounds: A majestic fanfare.

Availability: Common. Seen on the movies released by TVP.
