Background

Terra Nova Films is an educational film production company, founded in 1981. Its output, which consists of over 300 videos, primarily deals with topics such as geriatric care, physical therapy, and conflict resolution. [1]

Logo (2000s?-)

Visuals: On a black background, several silver stripes swirl into view to create a striped, glowing sphere (similar to the AT&T logo). As the striped sphere shrinks away from the screen, it comes into clearer focus, and some of the stripes towards the foreground vanish. The words:

Terra
Nova
Films

fade in towards the bottom right of the sphere.

Technique: CGI and fading effects, achieved using a Gaussian blur.

Audio: A pleasant, five-note stinger played on a nylon-stringed guitar. The first four notes (E, D, C, D) are played in a higher octave, with the final note (G) played as a gently-strummed chord.

Availability: Available on any Terra Nova-produced educational films, such as Assessing the Nutrition of Older Adults.
