Logo (2009-)

Visuals: On a light grey-blue gradient background with some clouds in the sky, there is a man standing with a disc in his hand. He turns to look at the camera as the disc shines once. He then looks up to notice something - the large gold-orange stacked words saying:

THANK
YOU

falling from the sky and landing next to him. It turns the background purplish-pinky-orange, with some stars seen in the sky. The man then recovers, turning back to look at the camera.

Variant: Depending on the language that is selected on the DVD/Blu-Ray language option menu, subtitles for the dialogue will appear for the selected language.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: The man (voiced by Keith Wickham) saying "By purchasing this DVD, you're supporting (see audio variants below) industry. Thank you!" This is accompanied to the sound of birds tweeting, a loud whistling noise before "THANK YOU" falls on-screen, a loud thud as it lands, the sound of a crowd cheering, and a peaceful, dreamy synth hum with twinkling noises.

Audio Variants:

  • For Universal releases & some HIT Entertainment releases, the man says "Your local film and television"
  • For Sony releases & most HIT Entertainment releases, the man says "The UK film and television".
  • On early Sony releases, the man just says "The UK film"
  • For 20th Century Fox releases, the man says "Your local film".
  • On Blu-ray releases, the man would instead say "By purchasing this Blu-ray disc".
  • Occasionally (mainly for the Blu-ray version), it is low-pitched.

Availability: Currently seen on releases from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, and HIT Entertainment in the UK and Australia.

  • Five Universal releases which have this logo are Despicable Me, Roy Chubby Brown: Pussy & Meatballs, The Dilemma and the Blu-ray releases of O Brother, Where Art Thou? and Jurassic Park.
  • Five Sony releases are Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, 22 Jump Street, The Social Network, The Amazing Spider-Man and Pixels.
  • The only known appearance of the logo outside of the UK and Australia is on the Italian DVD of Panda! Go, Panda!.
