Background

The Behemoth is an American video game company that was founded on May 27, 2003 by John Baez, Nick Dryburgh, Tom Fulp, Brandon LaCava and Dan Paladin. Based in San Diego, California, they are known for their arcade-inspired games that are animated in Paladin's artstyle, with some of their best-known games being the Alien Hominid series and Castle Crashers.

1st logo (November 23, 2004, 2008, 2015)

Logo: After the Newgrounds logo appears, we see the company's mascot, a fat, white chicken that is entirely outlined in blue and is sitting down come down and crush the Newgrounds logo, causing tank parts to fly everywhere and the background to change from black to white. The company name "THE BEHEMOTH" appears below the rotund bird. The chicken then looks at us before it zooms in and fades away.

Variant: On Castle Crashers and Castle Crashers Remastered, after the chicken crushes the Newgrounds logo, it pulls out a sword before multiple arrows are rapidly fired from the right side of the screen.

Technique: Entirely done in 2D animation.

Music/Sounds: The intro theme of the game.

Music/Sounds Variant: For the variant seen on Castle Crashers and its remaster, the added sounds of a sword being drawn and arrows flying.

Availability: Seen on the GameCube and PlayStation 2 ports of Alien Hominid and Alien Hominid HD.

2nd logo (February 3, 2006)

Logo: We fade in from black to see, on a white background, the sitting chicken from the previous logo above "THE BEHEMOTH" before we fade back to black.

Variant: On Super Soviet Missile Mastar, the logo is rendered entirely in white and 1-bit on a red background.

Technique: None.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Seen on the GameBoy Advance port of Alien Hominid.

3rd logo (April 3, 2013)

Logo: In a dimly-lit room with a brick wall and red curtains with gold bordering and tassels, we see, on a white pedestal, a statue of the chicken above the blue, blocky and cartoonish text "THE BEHEMOTH". The chicken slightly jumps up as it clucks, and two cardboard puppets, one of the hominid from Alien Hominid and the Blue Knight from Castle Crashers, come up from the bottom of the screen before the lights cut out.

Technique: Entirely done in 2D animation.

Music/Sounds: The intro theme of the game and the chicken clucking.

Availability: Seen on BattleBlock Theater.

4th logo (March 2, 2018)

Logo: On a dark blue background with a lighter blue spot on the left side of the screen, we see the silhouette of a hand holding a grey chess piece of the chicken with a blue wattle above numerous other chess pieces, all of which are colored bronze. The hand makes the chicken piece knock over all the pieces, and on the right side of the screen, The Behemoth's logo, in blue, appears above the smaller, white text reading "WE MAKE GAMES".

Technique: Entirely done in 2D animation.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Seen on Pit People.

5th logo (January 30, 2020-)

(0:00) - (0:06)

Logo: On a light blue background, we see the chicken, now in full color with a white body, a yellow beak and feet and a blue wattle, comb and tail feathers, fall down to the center of the screen, leaving behind feathers and creating a blue ring with a light blue interior behind it when it lands. The chicken then pulls out a green laser gun and pretends to fire it before multiple green, square projectiles fire from the right side of the screen, surprising the bird. The chicken then puts the gun away, and The Behemoth's logo and motto appear under the chicken looks to the right and a white outline flickers around the bird.

Technique: Entirely done in 2D animation.

Music/Sounds: A cartoony falling and landing sound, the chicken clucking when it pretends to fire the laser gun, sci-fi beam firing noises when the projectiles appear and a high-pitched, altered voice saying "Behemoth" at the end.

Availability: Seen on The Behemoth's YouTube channel, specifically with some development updates with Alien Hominid Invasion, starting with the game's announcement trailer.
