Background

The Film Department was a independent production company founded in June 2007 by Mark Gill and Neil Sacker, that specialised in financing and international sales. The company recieved a $200 million funding from G.E. Capital, allowing them to produce six films per year. However, the company was hit with a initial public offering in February 2010, which was withdrawn in August of that same year. The company shut down in May 2011.
