Background

This was the production company of Robert Greenblatt and David Janollari (who would later go on to form his own company, David Janollari Entertainment), mainly housed at Fox Television Studios. The company was founded in 1997.

Logo (September 22, 1998-May 15, 2006)

Visuals: Two blue bars open up to show a set of letters sliding in from opposite sides of the screen, over a sky background with blue clouds. They zoom out to reveal that they read:

STUDIO

The logo zooms out to a comfortable distance. Towards the end, the sun shines brightly through the clouds.

Variants:

  • A widescreen version exists. Before 2003, the logo was cropped.
  • On seasons 3-4 of The Hughleys and the short-lived show Oh, Grow Up!, the logo is stretched; the former had the logo cut to either the Fox Television Studios logo or the 20th Television logo when the sun shines through the clouds.
  • A short version of the logo starts when the sun shines through the clouds.
  • Starting in 2003, the words are dark blue and when the sun shines, the background is yellower. (This only exists for the short version.)

Technique: CGI designed by WunderFilm.

Audio: A booming hammer-strike sound, followed by "shining" sounds, and ending with two guitar plucks. Composed by John Nordstrom.

Audio Variants:

  • On Six Feet Under, American Family and Platinum, the end theme finishes over it.
  • On Elvis, it's silent.
  • On seasons 2-5 of One on One, seasons 2-3 of Eve, and early episodes of Cuts, the guitar plucks are omitted.
  • On later episodes of Cuts, the music is shortened.
  • On early season 1 of Eve, only the guitar plucks are heard.
  • The music sometimes continues into other logos.

Availability: The long version is seen on shows like The Hughleys, The Chronicle, and season 1 of One on One. It also appeared at the end of the pilot for the unproduced show Heat Vision and Jack. The short version can be seen on seasons 2-5 of One on One, Eve, Six Feet Under, Platinum, American Family, Elvis, and the former's short-lived spin-off series Cuts.
