Background

The Halcyon Company was founded in 2006 in Los Angeles by Victor Kubicek and Derek Anderson; Halcyon's first production was the short Cook Off!. That November, the company started a game subsidiary, Halcyon Games, to make a video game based on what would prove to be the company's only film from a major studio, Terminator: Salvation.

In August 2009, despite making a healthy profit from the film, they declared bankruptcy as a response to a lawsuit from their financier due to payment problems[1], and sold the rights to StudioCanal. Halcyon released another non-Terminator production before dissolving altogether in 2013; starting with Terminator: Genisys, the Terminator movies have been produced by Skydance Media.
