Background

The Hatchery was a Californian production company owned by American Greetings Entertainment (now Cloudco Entertainment) and Mandalay Entertainment. The company has not produced new projects since 2014, shortly after company founder Margaret Loesch stepped down from her position as president and CEO of Hub Network (now Discovery Family), and its website has gone defunct, so it can be assumed the company is dormant if not closed.

Visuals: On a black background, there is a frame containing a backdrop of clouds moving, and the words "THE HATCHERY" being displayed in the top-center in big, bold and black text, with a small "LLC." next to the "Y". At the bottom of the frame is an egg that rolls twice before hitting the left side of the frame, cracking it a bit. It then rolls 3 more times to an upright position, where a light glows from inside the crack afterwards.

Variants:

From 2004 to 2007, the sky looked more like a sunset and the egg is smaller.
A still variant exists.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A crack and rolling sounds, followed by a male audience contently going "Ahhh!". Sometimes, it's silent.

Audio Variant: On Zula Patrol, the music from the Gotham Entertainment logo is heard. Qubo airings use the ending theme of the show.

Availability: Can be seen on Dan Vs., Young Blades and R.L. Stine's The Haunting Hour: The Series, as well as R.L. Stine's The Haunting Hour: Don't Think About It. Originally first appeared on the short-lived game show Balderdash and the first season of Zula Patrol.
