Background
The Miriam Collection was a short-lived boutique label owned by The Weinstein Company Home Entertainment, intended to be a competitor to similar labels like The Criterion Collection. It is named after the Weinstein brothers' mother Miriam, who also inspired the name of Miramax Films. It was launched in 2007, and was quietly discontinued in 2009, after The Weinstein Company terminated its stake in distributor Genius Products.
