The Waldo Film Company

From the Audiovisual Identity Database, the motion graphics museum

(September 14, 1991-November 20, 1992)

Logo: We see a light blue background with a filmstrip with a tear in the middle. Inside it is Waldo, from the Where's Waldo? book series (or Wally, depending on where you live), who then waves at us as if he was saying "hello". The logo appears behind Waldo, as well as a copyright date.

Later Variants:

  • The original variant of this logo is different from the animated version. The filmstrip is slightly smaller and is completely still. "The" and "Co." are in a script-like font, while "Waldo" and "Film" are in a more professionally outlined font. The copyright date is also different, appearing in a simple black font, and says "Programme Copyright" at the beginning instead of just "Copyright".
  • On the direct-to-video features, including The Meanie Genie of Aladdin's Lamp and The Merry X-Mas Mix-Up!, the logo instead says "The Where's Waldo Co." with the color arrangement changed from blue-red-blue-red to red-blue-red-blue. The copyright information doesn't list the company name this time.

Technique: Cel animation, or none.

Music/Sounds: The end theme of the show.

Availability: Only seen on Where's Wally/Waldo?: The Animated Series and its later series of four direct-to-video specials.
