Background

The Wiggles Pty Ltd. is the holding company established by the founders of the Australian kids' band, The Wiggles. The band did not have an on-screen logo until 1997.

1st Logo (July 1, 1997-October 23, 1998)

Nicknames: "The Girl Painting", "The Sky", "The Clouds", "The Canvas"

Logo: Against a blue background with swirls, a purple sky, red clouds, and yellow ground. A girl wearing blue-and-yellow overalls stands in front of a canvas picking up some paint off of an easel with her paintbrush. Then she touches the canvas with her paintbrush, and The Wiggles logo appears via a blur effect. Then the girl disappears and the logo shines on the purple background.

Trivia: The girl in the logo is Emma Ryan, who was one of the kids who would appear alongside the Wiggles during music videos and some segments. She appeared in several videos during the 1990s.

Variant: On Let's Wiggle, "Let's Wiggle" replaces The Wiggles. Also, a copyright notice appears below.

FX/SFX: A combination of chroma-key technology and CGI.

Music/Sounds: A calm, whimsical music box tune.

Music/Sounds Variant: On "Spooked Wiggles" and "Funny Greg", The Chase credits song overlaps the logo for a few seconds making the music box tune out of sync. It's unknown if this was an error or not.

Availability: Scarce. Series 1 of The Wiggles no longer airs in Australia, nor has it aired in the United States since the mid-2000s, when it aired on Playhouse Disney (now Disney Junior). Even though, it may have aired for a period on Sprout (now Universal Kids). This logo sadly no longer exists on TV since 2015. However, VHS recordings of The Wiggles (Series 1), the HiT Extras special feature and the Series 1 boxset may have this logo intact on them.

Editor's Note: This logo is a favorite among The Wiggles fans.

2nd Logo (January 2, 1999-October 22, 2001)

Nicknames: "The Bee and Flower", "The Orange Flower"

Logo: On a black background, we see a CGI bee pollenating an orange flower from the yellow nectar. Then it sparkles and shines in gold to reveal The Wiggles logo and the text stretches before it goes to its original position and the bee flies away. A copyright notice appears below as it reads "Copyright © [YEAR] The Wiggles Touring Pty Limited".

Trivia: This logo was done by Plastic Wax. The CGI bee seen in this logo is also used for a transition in The Wiggles TV Series 2 and the 1999 version of Toot Toot!.

Variants:

  • On a Playhouse Disney (now Disney Junior) airing of The Wiggles TV Series 2, the opening sequence is used. Also, the text is skinnier.
  • On a GMTV airing of The Wiggles TV Series 2, the text “Produced for GMTV” is above the copyright notice.
  • On the 1999 version of Wiggly, Wiggly, Christmas, the copyright notice is extended to read "The Wiggles, Dorothy the Dinosaur, Wags the Dog, Henry the Octopus and Captain Feathersword are registered trademarks of The Wiggles Touring Pty Limited. © 1999".
  • On Yule Be Wiggling, the logo freezes for 12 seconds.
  • There is a variant without a copyright notice below the logo. This can be seen on a Sprout (now Universal Kids) airing of The Wiggles (TV Series 2) and the 2nd version of The Dorothy the Dinosaur and Friends Video.

FX/SFX: The bee pollenating the flower and The Wiggles logo sparkling and stretching. The 3D animation is pretty good for the mid-late 1990s.

Music/Sounds: The closing theme of The Wiggles with the bee buzzing and chimes ringing.

Music/Sounds Trivia: The buzzing for the bee in The Wiggles logo is identical to the music bug's buzz during the "Dorothy and the Music Bug" scene in The Wiggles TV Series 2 episode "Musical Instruments". This sound is called "Sound Ideas, FLY - SINGLE FLY BUZZING AROUND, ANIMAL, INSECT 03", which can be found in the Hanna-Barbera Sound Effects Library.

Music/Sounds Variants:

  • On Yule Be Wiggling and the 1999 version of Wiggly, Wiggly Christmas, the closing theme plays over it.
  • On Hoop-Dee-Doo! It's a Wiggly Party, there is no closing music.
  • On the international version of Wake Up Jeff!, the logo is silent.

Availability: Fairly common. Can be seen on The Wiggles TV Series 2 episodes, The Dorothy the Dinosaur and Friends Video (Version 2), the International version of Wake Up Jeff!, the 1999 versions of Toot Toot! and Wiggly, Wiggly, Christmas, The Wiggly Big Show, Big Red Car (the UK version of Toot Toot!), Captain Feathersword the Friendly Pirate, It’s a Wiggly, Wiggly, World!, Hoop-Dee-Doo! It’s a Wiggly Party! and Yule Be Wiggling. Although, TV Series 2 of The Wiggles no longer airs in Australia nor it has aired in the United States since the mid-2000s when it aired on Playhouse Disney (now Disney Junior). Even though, it may have aired for a period on Sprout (now Universal Kids). This logo sadly no longer exists on TV since 2015. However, VHS recordings of The Wiggles (Series 2), the TV Series 2 Collector's Edition DVD boxset, the DVD and VHS releases of The Wiggles: Wiggly Play Time and The Wiggles: Lights, Camera, Action! and the HIT Entertainment Children’s Favourites 2005 UK DVD may definitely have this logo intact on them.

  • GMTV variant: Ultra rare. It was seen on a GMTV (now ITV Breakfast) airing of The Wiggles TV Series 2. It can be found on HIT Entertainment Children’s Favourites 2005 UK DVD. Otherwise, check your old tapes.
  • Playhouse Disney Variant: Extinct. It was seen on a Playhouse Disney (now Disney Junior) airing of The Wiggles TV Series 2. Check your old tapes.
  • Sprout variant: Extinct. It was seen on a Sprout (now Universal Kids) airing of The Wiggles TV Series 2. Check your old tapes and DVD recordings.

Editor's Note: Another favorite logo among The Wiggles fans, but the bee's buzzing noise may be annoying and my put children off by it.

3rd Logo (September 30, 2002- )

Logo: We only just see the The Wiggles logo itself placed superimposed on the credits at the very top middle on a black background and also is still. But the logo is cut a bit much mid-longer enough, approaching all the way to the last half ten seconds or so. Then the TV show's logo finally fades off to black from the whole entire screen. Copyrighted year and copyrighted notice info (either in white or in other colors) given can also be seen way below to the middle of the bottom throughout the entire ending credits of the series, depending on the season/episode of any year that has been released out.

Variants:

  • On Lights, Camera, Action, Wiggles! (TV Series 3), Wiggle Bay and Whoo-Hoo! Wiggly Gremlins, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation logo is below The Wiggles' logo. Also, the logo is on any colour background.
  • On Cold Spaghetti Western, the logo is on a western background.
  • On The Wiggles Show (Series 4 and 5), The Wiggles Show logo is in place of The Wiggles logo.
  • A special funding interatrial for the Unicef Foundation, as part of The Wiggles, which aired around 2008, has the Unicef logo being appeared on the right sided corner next to beside of the latter show's logo exactly being placed on the left-sided one.
  • On The Wiggles' Big Birthday, the logo is on a white background with confetti.
  • On The Wiggles Meet the Orchestra, the logo is next to the ABC Music logo.
  • On Ready, Steady Wiggle! (TV Series 7 and 8), the Ready Steady Wiggle logo is in place of The Wiggles logo. Also the background is red.
  • On Wiggle, Wiggle, Wiggle! (TV Series 9), the logo is on a Wiggles World location background.
  • On The Wiggles World! (TV Series 10), the logo is on a space background.

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: Usually so far it's the ending theme of The Wiggles. On Wiggle Bay and some episodes of the latter, then meaning it can be none.

Availability: Current. Seen on The Wiggles (TV series 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 10 and 11), Wiggle Bay, Space Dancing!, Whoo-Hoo! • Lights, Camera, Action, Wiggles Variant: Uncommon. Series 3 of The Wiggles no longer airs in Australia, nor has it aired in the United States since the mid-2000s, when it aired on Playhouse Disney (now Disney Junior). Even though. it may have aired for a period on Sprout (now Universal Kids). This logo sadly no longer exists on TV since 2015. However, VHS recordings of The Wiggles (Series 3), the 2004-2006 The Wiggles US DVDs (the bonus episodes) and the TV Series 3 DVD boxset may definitely have this logo intact on them.
