Background
Tig Productions is Kevin Costner's first production company, named for Costner's paternal grandmother, Tig. The company has been dormant since 2006; Costner currently owns Treehouse Films.
Logo (November 25, 1992-2006)
Visuals: On a black background, a silhouette of a man jumping on a sports pole appears. The picture proceeds as a stroboscope animation, collecting together nine still shots of the jumping process, each one glowing purple as they appear. "Tig Productions" in the Americana font, fades in below. A twinkle then appears on the picture, and it turns blue.
Variant: Later versions of Wyatt Earp have this logo in a lighter blue.
Technique: Cel animation.
Audio: A flute piece with strings playing throughout (composed by Alan Silvestri), or the closing theme of the movie.
Availability: It can be seen at the beginning of Dances with Wolves (on some current prints, it does not appear at all in the original version) and Wyatt Earp, and at the end of The Bodyguard, The Postman, and For Love of the Game. Many of the company's films don't have it.
