The company had a lengthy history since, mainly competing with [[Bandai Games (Japan)|Bandai]] and [[Takara (Japan)|Takara]]. In 2005 it announced its plans to merge with Takara, forming [[Takara Tomy (Japan)|Takara Tomy]] as a result; however, the Tomy branding is still used in overseas territories. |
