1st Warning (1987-1991)
Warning: We see the Warning screen scrolling up. On a black background, we see the word "WARNING" in 3D. Below is the white warning text in larger print. It looks similar to the MGM/UA Home Video warning used in the 1980s.
Technique: The text scrolling.
Music/Sounds: None.
Availability: Seen on pre-1991 Turner Home Entertainment releases. Also seen on Junior Home Video releases.
2nd Warning (1991-2000)
Warning: On a white background, there is a black rectangle with an FBI seal and the text "FBI" above it. On the right of it is the text in black.
Variants:
- On Cartoon Network releases, the square and text are white and on a green/red checkerboard background. Sometimes, it's black and white.
- On Turner Classic Movies releases, the square and text are white and in a brown area (with green and red surroundings) on a sand background.
- On a VHS of the 2000 Golf Channel documentary Payne Stewart, the FBI rectangle and the background are in a blood red color, while the warning text is in a white box.
Technique: None.
Music/Sounds: None.
Availability: Seen on post-1991 releases from Turner Home Entertainment, as well as Columbia TriStar Home Video co-releases with Castle Rock Entertainment. It can also be seen on VHS releases from WGBH Boston Video, such as The Making of ZOOM.
