Background

U.S. Manga Corps was the main anime distributor for Central Park Media, which catered to middle/high school students and older audiences. Its "spokesmecha" was Geist from M.D. Geist. This is due to Central Park Media founder John O'Donnell being obsessed with the anime, despite it being generally panned by others.

1st Logo (November 7, 1991-1998)

Visuals: Over a blue background is the outlined text "U.S. MANGA" set in Stencil, with "CORPS" set in Helvetica Black, inside of a rectangle, with a star on each side is seen on the left of the screen, while Geist is seen on the right.

Technique: A still computer graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on the label's VHS releases of the time, such as Project A-Ko, M.D. Geist, Gall Force, among other releases. Its first appearance was on Dominion Tank Police Act I, initially distributed by BMG Video.

2nd Logo (1998-2007)

Visuals: In a space environment with a gaseous planet below, the camera pans around Geist. After the panning stops, the mech points a gun at the camera and shoots, which makes a bright flash appear. The flash fades, and the robot is seen in the familial position. The US Manga Corps logo fly in letter by letter next to the mech.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A very dramatic drumbeat plays in the background, accompanied by the appropriate sound effects for the gun and the flying in of the letters.
