Background

UFA Home Entertainment was the home video division of Universum Film GmBH. Like its parent company, it has no correlation with Universum Film AG, including their home video label.

(2000's)

Logo: On a black background, we see a close-up of the glassy letters of "ufa" from their sides. The camera then zooms out and pans as the letters slide next to each other, while the background gets filled with moving blue lights. "home entertainment" is revealed under the wordmark from a blue flash moving left to right. The lights then slowly fade out.

Variants:

  • An early version exists, where the letters are more solid and slide with "home entertainment" in a different font already in place, casting a shadow on a gray floor.
  • On some releases, the word "art" tilts next to "ufa" at a 90-degree angle.

FX/SFX: Clean CGI animation.

Music/Sounds: Deep notes overlaid by 10 synth piano notes and twinkles at the middle. On "art" releases, a pure piano rendition is heard.

Availability: Seen on some DVD releases from Universum Film, although most of them (especially since the late 2000's) use the movie logo.

Editor's Note: None.
