Background: Castle Films (who had already been purchased United World Films, the non-theatrical division of Universal Studios) was renamed as Universal Eight in 1977. The company would go defunct in 1984 due to competition from the home video market.

in a 1950s font in front of an "8" that is blue on the inside and pink on the outside. Above five seconds later the word "PRESENTS" fades in below the "8". A few seconds later, the it dissolves into "EXCERPTS FROM" in the same typeface. It then immediately cuts into the program.
Variant: There is a version that has the byline "FROM UNIVERSAL 8 ALL TV AND THEATRICAL RIGHTS RESERVED."
FX/SFX: Unknown.
Music/Sounds: Presumably silent or used the opening or closing theme to the program.
Availability: Extremely rare. Can likely be seen on any program released by the company.
