Background
Universal Entertainment Corporation (not to be confused with the iconic film studio) was founded on December 1, 1969 as Universal Lease Co. for the purpose of manufacturing jukeboxes. On October 1971, the company removed "Lease" from their corporate trade name, renaming it as "Universal Co., Ltd". At that time they started to enter the casino and video gaming business. On April 1998, Universal's then-spun off Technos Company absorbed Universal Sales Co. in a merger at the time, which later led to a name change: "Aruze". At the time they were still manufacturing video games, Aruze had a shareholding stock in Wynn Resorts, later to open Wynn Las Vegas. On May 2009, Aruze revived the Universal brand as "Universal Entertainment Corporation". Universal is currently manufacturing pachinko (a Japanese gambling game), slot machines, arcade games, and other gaming products. They are also a publisher of video games.
