Channel 5 (Singapore)


Background

Channel 5 is an Singaporean TV station owned by Mediacorp.

1st Logo (Where It All Happens) (1 January 1994-1995)

Logo: In a green-orange-purple gradient background with lines spinning in circles and the number five as a shadow, we see the blue rectangle with the white-orange number "5" on it. A while later, the words "WHERE IT" in pink, ALL in white, in addition to being in the blue rounded rectangle, and "Happens!" in gold all appear, with the "Happens!" text being written.

Variants:

  • A variant where the slogan does not appear existed.
  • Special: TBA.

Technique: CGI animation by Novocom, which was known for the STAR TV Network and the British Sky Broadcasting network's identities.

Music/Sounds: A set of drums, which led to the chorus saying "Channel 5! Where it all happens!", which led to a woman saying five.

Availability: Extinct. It was shown to promote the channel's new full English-language format.

2nd Logo (Your World at Home) (1995-1997)

Gem IDs


Background

Gem is an Asian TV channel owned by KC Global Media.

1st Logo (2014-2020)

Logo: In a white background, we see green things (such as jellyfishes or flowers) forming the logo, which mainly consisted of the "S" from Sony TV networks, and the text "GEm" in green.

Technique: CGI animation by Lights & Shadows, a Singaporean design agency. These idents were directed by Hock Lim, produced by Jourdansky Yong, designed and animated by Wai Leng Low, with 3D models were made by Wai Leng Low and Ishak S. Laksono.

Music/Sounds: A buildup, which was followed by the 4-note theme played by pianos. The theme was made at Turntable Music.

Availability: Extinct.

2nd Logo (2020-present)

Logo: A green origami forms in a selection of things, with the last one included the "GEM" text in white.

Variants: A short variant exists.

Technique: CGI animation.

Music/Sounds: A theme, which was either used by a piano. The music was ended by the three-note theme, which looks similar to the one from the last logo.

Availability: Current.
