U.S. Navy Film Dept.

Background

This is the main branch of the U.S. Navy, which was founded on April 1st of 1961 as a documentary film studio about the sea and ship-related content.

1st Logo (1966)

Logo: On a blue background, there is a white, stylized military ship containing the letters "UNF" on top of a wavy line representing the ocean. Underneath is the text "U.S. NAVY FILM DEPARTMENT" in white.

Technique: None.

Music/Sounds: A nautical 7-note horn jingle.

Availability: Extinct. It has only appeared once in its lifetime due to heavy backlash for not using the main U.S. Navy Symbol. Though, this is likely a prototype considering the next logo.

2nd Logo (1966-1990)
