It was founded as a film production company in early 1973 by Lata Bengeshkari, a pioneer of the Bangladeshi television, to continue her movie career. Since the mid-1970's, Crystal Letter Films has produced a handful of its successful films, including Detour! (1996) and The Tragedy (1998).
