The Aoi Iro Team

Background

The Aoi Iro Team (London) Ltd. (commonly known as The Blue Color Team) is a British video and game company that was best known for making the Yuthana and Siripon movies. It was founded as a film distributor by Arthur Cole in September 7, 1968 after his previous company, "Arthur International Productions", was closed because it went bankrupt, but he was come back to the film industry. In 1988, the company stopped distributing independent movies and started producing its own films for both Channel Four Television and the BBC. In March 7, 1996, after a half-year which Yuthana and Siripon: Eternal Forever was released, its film studio was folded into the Trident Multimedia, leaving its video and game development. The Aoi Iro Team would return to filmmaking nine years later.

1st Logo (1969-1973)

Logo: Depending on the film:

The Man of the Land (1969): On a black background, we see the white text "THE AOI IRO TEAM and NATIVE CULTURE FILMS Present"
The Last Emperor (1970): On a superimposed background, we see the shadowed text "THE AOI IRO TEAM Ltd. Presents".
Lost Island (1970): On a blue background, we see the shadowed text "The Aoi Iro Team (London) Ltd. presents".
History of the Industry (1972): On a blue sky background, we see the yellow text "THE AOI IRO TEAM DEVELOPMENT DIVISION UNITED KINGDOM Presents".
The Investigation (1973): On a yellow background, we see the black text "Distributed by THE AOI IRO TEAM (LONDON) LTD." in Eurostile.

Music/Sounds: The opening theme of the film.

2nd Logo (1973-1975)

3rd Logo (1975-1983)

Logo: On a dark blue background, the words "A" and "I" arae merging each other, and when they zoomed out into bottom left, the texts "AN THE AOI IRO TEAM (LONDON) RELEASE" appear from moving right-to-left.

Variants:

Sometimes the background is black.
A black and white version exists.
A early version was appeared on The Strangers. Instead of "AN THE AOI IRO TEAM (LONDON) RELEASE", the texts "Released by THE AOI IRO TEAM (LONDON) Limited" wipe in left-to-right.
A rare variant appears on Dark Days: The logo is darker, and before "AN THE AOI IRO TEAM (LONDON) RELEASE" appears, the logo freezes and fades into the text "A THE AOI IRO TEAM (LONDON) LTD. Release".

Technique: 2D animation.

Music/Sounds: A short version of The Big Country theme.

Availability: Seen on many The Aoi Iro Team films from that period. It was last seen on Yuthana and Siripon: Cannonball Running (1983).

4th Logo (April 11, 1985-July 24, 1996)

Logo: TBA

Variants:

Starting on 1988, the words "AN" and "RELEASE" were omitted.
On Yuthana and Siripon: Eternal Forever, the background stays after the logo finishes.
On Rainbow Match Arena 96, the logo is still with the text "Made in the United Kingdom by:" appears above the logo.

Technique: Same as the previous logo.

Music/Sounds: Same as the previous logo.

Availability: Appears on the English print of the Thai film Operation Revenge (1967). It was first seen on its film Drive My Car (1985) and last seen on the end of its video game Rainbow Match Arena 96.

NEWLINK Crystal Letter Motion Pictures

Background

NEWLINK Crystal Letter Motion Pictures (formerly known as Crystal Letter Films until late 2001) is an active Indian Bengali-language film supporting company located at Kolkata, West Bengal. It was founded as a film production company in early 1973 by Lata Bengeshkari, a pioneer of the Bangladeshi television, to continue her movie career. Since the mid-1970's, Crystal Letter Films has produced a handful of its successful films, including Detour! (1996) and The Tragedy (1998). The company was acquired by Newlink Corporation in 2000, resulting renamed as its current name. It was continued as a supporting company in December 2001 after the death of its founder in November of that year.

Sometimes the logo is cropped or squashed into a 2.35:1 or 2.40:1 CinemaScope.
Due to a film deterioration, the logo may be tinted or darken.
On Canberra (2001, last film to use the logo), before "CRYSTAL LETTER FILMS" wiping in, the logo freezes and the white text "NEWLINK CRYSTAL LETTER MOTION PICTURES (INDIA) PVT. LTD. presents" fading in.

Music/Sounds Variant: Sometimes it's silent.

Availability: Rare. Seen on some Crystal Letter Films movies from that period. The logo's first appearance was The Night Escape and the last was Canberra. This logo is retained on a 2021 4K Blu-ray release of The Night Escape. It was also seen on Detour!, starring Kohmi Hirose and Naomi Tamura, and reprints of the 1988 film Drop Trion.
