Featured Logo Finds

Nickelodeon Shorts

Where: Thanks to TrustyCranberry for bringing this specific eBay listing into light through the Discord server. This logo is not known to be seen on TV airings and DVD versions of this CatDog short, although it only appeared on original 35mm prints which haven't really resurfaced until very very recently.

Eureka Video

Where: This is an exceedingly rare logo from a now-defunct home entertainment company; Eureka Video (The Australian branch, not the British one). The reason I thought it was "exceedingly rare"? It lay undocumented for basically 20 years until I found it on a DVD of 'Night of the Living Dead'. Other releases from the time may have also had this logo, but we're currently not sure.

Where: This was an interesting find! The Turner Feature Animation logo but they removed 16 letters! It was only seen on the Cats Don't Dance Wrap Party tape, mainly meant for the crew working on said film.

Where: This blue arrangement of the daisy only has the G of Gaumont. I found this on the 1908 film Le Tic.

Where: Can be seen on the Special Edition DVD of Akira, which is also in the Blu-Ray set. A version of the early 2000s Madman Entertainment logo with a white glow, previously undocumented.

Where: This logo is not rare in the slightest, but a DVD quality version of the BBC Video closers is. This can only be seen on a 'Panasonic Exclusive' DVD of Wallace and Gromit: A Close Shave, most likely using the same master as the VHS.

Where: A very interesting find to be sure, this could only be found on a single Blu-Ray; the World of Wonder Calibration Disc. As far as I know, it was never given a proper retail release.

Pixar Animation Studios

1st Logo



The first 3 photos were found on the Christmas Videos seen on the Made in Point Richmond DVD.

  1. Just the 1986-1990 Pixar symbol on a black background
  2. A bigger version of the symbol with text over it.
  3. The same symbol but on a grey/white gradient.

The last 2 photos were seen on a sales pitch for Pixar, released in 1990.

  1. Tinny from Tin Toy can be seen on the right side on a white background, with the Pixar print logo on the top-left hand side and a copyright stamp on the bottom-left hand side.
  2. On a black background, the Pixar print logo, address and phone number can be seen.

Where: I magically found these 2 Gaumont British logos from a 1940s film called High Flyers (Excerpts from the feature film production Flying High, not the 1980s film).
