Background

The Three Stooges were a vaudeville comedy team active from 1922 to 1970. Its best known lineup was Moe Howard (1922-1970), Larry Fine (1928-1970), and Jerome "Curly" Howard (1932-1946). Other Stooges throughout its history included Shemp Howard (1923-1932, 1946-1955), Joe Besser (1956-1958), and "Curly-Joe" DeRita (1958-1970).
