Introduction

Hi, and welcome to my profile page! My name is Alex and I love logos. I've loved them ever since I was a young kid. I've noticed movie/TV logos my whole life and it's my favorite hobby to learn and study them. I didn't discover CLG/AVID until 2019 but it feels like a place for me, so I'm happy to be here and edit pages and add new info.

I'm a YouTuber, artist, American, and GutterBaller. Also, I am President of the Republic of GutterBallia. My micronation is currently bankrupt due to overspending on McDonald's food. Despite the excess amount of Coke A Cola, the hours of Super Smash Bros Ultimate gaming, and my need to always be funny, I still manage to be a nerd about logos. I use to be a logo kid (cringe alert) but now I have grown up to be a somewhat functioning adult who visits this website almost daily. Anyways, Thank You For GutterBalling!

Favorite Logos

  • 20th Century Studios (1994) - I used to think the 1994 20th Century Fox logo was live-action when I was a kid, and I thought the real structure was in Hollywood. This logo has a special place in my heart. The 2009 logo is a worthy successor. Although, I do not like the 2020 name change.
  • NBC Universal Television Studio (2004) - I love the music and I remember seeing this a lot on TV back in the day.
  • T.A.T. Communications Company (197?) - I like the music and the logo and I hope we find the full version soon!
  • Walt Disney Pictures (1985), (1995) - Both are super nostalgic and I loved the Pixar version since I remember watching those films all the time.
  • Pixar Animation Studios (1995) - Who knew a simple desk lamp would become one of the most iconic movie logos of all time?
  • Paramount Pictures (2002) - Another cool CGI logo with a long lifespan.
  • Columbia Pictures (1993) - Nice music, good atmosphere, and is the best of any of the company's logos.

GutterBall Studios Logo History

GutterBall Studios was originally founded as koalaboy2001 on November 4th, 2010. It is Alex's production company and YouTube channel. However, following a series of renames over the years, it was changed to its current name in late 2019, taking inspiration from the sport of bowling, in which landing your ball in the gutter results in no pins knocked down and 0 points, known as a gutterball.

Disclaimer: The logo history content should not be removed, as this is a "About User" page.

Koalaboy2001

1st Logo (November 12th, 2010-November 19th, 2010)

Visuals: On a flat surface, we see a white piece of paper with the text, "Koalaboy2001 Videos" written in pencil.

Trivia: This logo was invented due to Alex's love for movie/TV logos and the desire to have his own as a kid.

Variant: The placement of the paper varies, sometimes it's on a bed, and sometimes it's on a carpet floor.

Technique: Live-action.

Audio: Alex saying the name followed by "Ah, yeah!".

Audio Variant: On the video 100 Paddle Balls In A Row By Koalaboy2001, the line is changed to "Koalaboy2001 Videos, On, On, YouTube." and is sung in a sing-song fashion.

Availability: Only seen on three surviving videos from the era, Flying Guitar, The iPhone, and 100 Paddle Balls In A Row By Koalaboy2001. It's likely that this logo was seen on other videos, but those have been deleted and are currently lost media.

2nd Logo (June 11th, 2013, July 24th, 2014)

Visuals: On a blue and pink film stage with smoke slowly moving, the green text "Koalaboy2001 Presents" in an 8-bit font with a drop shadow fades in.

Variant: In 2014, there are three added puffs of smoke panning from left to right that reveal the text, which is bigger and in simpler font, without any capital letters. In addition, the logo is in 720p.

Technique: 2D computer animation. Additional chroma-key effects for the 2014 variant.

Audio: A stock slow-moving pop music sample.

Availability: Only seen on two videos, My New Intro, and My New Intro HD. However, this was not used on regular videos.

GutterBall Studios

Logo (July 8th, 2020-)

Visuals: On a black background we see the stacked white text "GUTTERBALL STUDIOS" in the League Spartan Regular font, with a white line in between, and a green bowling ball (nicknamed the GutterBall) in place of the "O".

Trivia: The name comes from Alex's love for bowling, as it's his favorite sport. It was also inspired by other production companies having the word "Studios" in their name. Other name ideas included Silvermill Studios and Tibsen Studios.

Variant: A prototype version was used originally, from July 8th, 2020 to April 5th, 2021. The only differences are that text is in the Nightclub BTN Regular font, the bowling ball is a recolored piece of pre-existing clipart, and the logo is smaller. Additionally, the bowling ball slightly changed in a few videos.

Technique: 2D computer graphic.

Audio: None, or the audio from the video.

Availability: First seen on the video I Made A One-Page Bowling Website as a prototype (the last video to use it was Time To Break 2 TVs!), while the current version debuted on April 6th, 2021 on the channel, with it's first video appearance on September 7th, 2021 on My Cool Rock That I Picked Up From A Mexican Restaurant, and has been seen on almost all videos since.
