Background

Veronica Omroep Organisatie (VOO) was a Dutch broadcasting organization that produced radio and television broadcasts for the Dutch public broadcasting system between December 28, 1975 and August 31, 1995.

1st ID (1976-1978)

Visuals: On a sky blue background, a teal colored illustration of the Norderney is shown. Then, a simulation of waves in white fade below. Moments later, the waves begin to rise, and the background turns all white. Behind it is the Veronica logo, which is the stylized "VERONICA" word, in which the waves fade out to reveal it entirely.

Technique: Scanimation.

Audio: A soft percussion theme with choruses saying "Veronica".

2nd ID (1978-1979)

Visuals: We see the Veronica logo in various actions, which two of them exist:
  • The Veronica logo in red/yellow is seen overlaid by transparent spheres, with various shots of them.
  • The Veronica logo is in a wobbly effect with the RGB colors offset.

Technique: Depends on each ident.

Audio: Music may vary, but one uses the music from above.

3rd ID (1978-1981)

Visuals: At a dark setting, there is various blue glowing lights from the distance, with a kaleidoscope effect. As it zooms forwards, the Veronica logo and "NED. 2" in gold wipe in by sparkles.

Technique: Scanimation by Image West.

Audio: A short triumphant theme with a female chorus saying "is Veronica".

4th ID (1979-1980)

Visuals: On a black backgrond, the Veronica logo in white is shown with two faint copies in red and blue behind it, with two shining sparkles. Water reflection is seen below.

Technique: None.

Audio: A short triumphant theme with a female chorus saying "Dit is Veronica".

5th ID (1980-1981)

Visuals:

  • Opening: Against a blue gradient themed background, we see simulations of a sunrise and the ocean. Moments later, a rotating light blue shape fades in above, and zooms forwards before turning into it's current form, to reveal the Veronica logo.
  • Closing: Same as described above, but it's played in reverse.

Technique: Scanimation by Europe Video Amsterdam.

Audio: Sounds of the ocean overlaid with synth beeps, then a wobbly string tune. Then, a male announcer says: "On radio and television, Veronica International. The voice of a young Europe".

6th ID (1981-1982)

Visuals:
  • Opening: Against a space background, a yellow glowing circle is shown from the distance, with a scrolling yellow grid surface. Then, the words "NED. 2 WOENSDAG" slide out separately, with white trails following it. As they zoom out towards the circle, it reveals a model of the Veronica logo in blue rotating and zooming in.
  • Closing: It starts on the same background with the circle and grid. The Veronica logo in blue rises down, as it shrinks when it gets in front of the circle. Then, "tot ziens" wipe in by sparkles.

Variant: One version has it placed against a zooming blue space background. The Veronica logo zooms in with a white trail, and a gold glowing rounded rectangle border with "NED. 2" fade in.

Technique: Scanimation by Image West.

Audio: Music may vary, but it mostly includes a triumphant theme, and choruses.
