Background: Very Important Productions is an independent Los Angeles production company founded by Joe Gressis, Loren Semmens, Adam Deyoe, and Daniel Dominguez.Very Important was born when Daniel Dominguez and Joe Gressis created the acclaimed hit hybrid live action/anime web series Oishi High School Battle, which has earned over 15 million views and a Streamy nomination for Best Animated Series (2013). With the success of Oishi, Dominguez and Gressis partnered with Lorenzo Semmens and Adam Deyoe. Semmens and Deyoe were fresh off the release of horror feature Dead Season, which grossed over $2 million off a $70,000 budget and reached #2 on Netflix.Their founders’ previous productions include features A Little Help (2011, Jenna Fischer, Chris O’Donnell), Dead Season (2012), The Woman (2011, directed by Lucky McKee), Psycho Sleepover (2008), Home Run Showdown (2012, Matthew Lillard, Dean Cain), and cult hit Yeti: A Love Story (2006).As of Q2 2013, Very Important has feature films, webseries, and TV properties spanning every stage of production. |
