Background

Vipah Interactive was a video game developer and book publisher based in Wellesley, Massachusetts. They were best known for their work with Curious George, publishing books in the series and developing computer games based on the property. Vipah appeared to have exited game development in 1999, but remained active as late as 2012.

1st Logo (1996-1999)

Visuals: A tornado made up of stylized "V"s flies in from the left of the screen. One of the "V"s, in white with a yellow bolt inside of it, and the word "INTERACTIVE" below, spins out of the tornado and stops in the middle of the screen.

Technique: 3D animation.

Audio: Wind sounds, followed by an electronic synth note.

Availability: Used primarily on their Curious George titles, published by Houghton Mifflin Interactive. The titles are Curious George Early Learning Adventure, Curious George ABC Adventure, Curious George Learns Phonics and Curious George Reads, Writes & Spells for Grades 1&2.

2nd Logo (1998-1999)

Visuals: On a black background, the logotype from before fades in and turns 90 degrees. It is blue with the bolt being white and glowing. A flash would occur as a lens flare passes through the top of the logo.

Variant: Early on, the logo appears via brief static. The colors are more pronounced and the bolt is a blue and white gradient color.

Technique: 3D animation.

Audio: A two-note synth note, with a clap heard in the second. The variant played in silence.

Availability: Appeared on Operation and Tonka Construction 2. Both titles were co-produced with ImaginEngine.
