Background

Vivid Entertainment Group is an American pornographic film production company, featuring a catalog of VHS and DVD titles and Internet content. It has been estimated to be the top adult entertainment company.

Vivid Video

1st Logo (early/mid 1980s-1989)

Visuals: On a black background, four black squares zoom out, each containing four porn movie posters. "Vivid" in a white script font with "V I D E O" below it fades in over the posters.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: A synth pop-esque music.

Availability: Found on early porn tapes by the company.

2nd Logo (1989-2001)

Visuals: Over a marble background, there are two silhouettes of a bald couple. The silhouettes then get closer to each other and kiss, but suddenly, the silhouettes quickly transform into a script V, which then thickens and turns metallic and blue. The V rotates to face the top as the rest of the logo script gets to be revealed, actually being "Vivid", which then zooms back and stops. A red chalk underline writes in below. The metallic "VIDEO" then flashes in near the underline, and "Vivid" also flashes. The logo shines.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A gentle string theme, which then builds up into a pounding rock theme. A male announcer then says "You're watching a Vivid feature presentation".

Availability: Can be seen on porn tapes released by Vivid. It can also, strangely be seen on some Vivid releases on 3DO and PC, mainly those of the FMV kind.

Vivid Entertainment

1st logo (1993)

Visuals: The logos fades into the night starry sky background where the portrait of a topless woman fades in. Various tarot-themed decorations are shown. The portrait changes the image of her pose to the back while the firefly-like light moved around to form the text "VIVID" below the portrait.

Technique: 2D digital computer animation and live action.

Audio: A chilling soundtrack accompanies with dark whooshes sound and the soft magical choir.

Availability: Can be seen on some of porn films releases from Vivid which dates back this year.

2nd Logo (2001- )

Visuals: On a light blue background with a letterboxed capture of moving clouds in a blue tint; we see on the left, some white triangles spinning and turning into an upside-down star, with the top-right point longer than the others and with a white check symbol inside. On the right, the word "VIVID" in blue with thick white borders, wipes quickly, A shiny line appears and makes the white word "ENTERTAINMENT" appearing below it, via a shining effect.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A windy noise that ends with a cymbal crash for the "VIVID" text and a synth drumbeat for the "ENTERTAINMENT" one.

Availability: Can be seen on later releases of porn films released by Vivid.
