WCFE is a PBS member station located in Plattsburgh, New York.

1st Logo (1977-1980)

Logo: On any background, on the bottom right of the screen, we see the text "WCFE-TV", and below it on the right is a large number "57".

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Extinct. It is a station ID.


2nd Logo (1980-1993)

Logo: On any background, we see the text "wcfe" and below it is the text "plattsburgh".

Variants: The logo might be positioned anywhere else other than the center of the screen.

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: An announcer saying "This is WCFE Channel 57, Plattsburgh.".

Music/Sounds Variants: There can be variants where the announcer says something different, and some others can have no music or sounds.

Availability: Extinct. It is a station ID.


3rd Logo (1993-1996)

Logo: On a live-action background, we see the text "wcfe". On the right of it, a figure of a mountain and a lake is shown. Below the WCFE text is "Mountain Lake Public Television". Below that text is "PLATTSBURGH NEW YORK".

FX/SFX: Live-action.

Music/Sounds: A peaceful tune.

Availability: Seen on their programming at the time.


4th Logo (1996-1999)

Logo: On a live-action background, we see the Mountain Lake logo (the text "Mountain" with a mountain/lake figure and the text "Lake" below it) flip in. The logo then zooms in and the text "PRESENTS" fades in below.

FX/SFX: The live action background, and the animation.

Music/Sounds: A "drumroll" sound along with three swan chirps.

Availability: Seen at the beginning of their programming at the time.


5th Logo (1997-2003)

Logo: On a live-action background with an ocean, we see the mountain/lake figure in a black-colored oval. The text "Mountain Lake" is below it. Below that text is "PUBLIC BROADCASTING". While the whole logo plays, the water waves.

FX/SFX: The water waving.

Music/Sounds: Waving water sounds and 2 swan chirps.

Availability: Seen at the end of their programming at the time.


6th Logo (1998-2008?)

Logo: On a background, we begin seeing "Mountain Lake" flip in. Then we start to see the mountain/lake figure in a purple-colored oval. After the flipping, the PBS logo fades below "Mountain Lake".

FX/SFX: The animation.

Music/Sounds: Possibly the closing theme to a show.
