Background
WGUN was a pirate television broadcast in the late 1970s in Lynchburg, Virginia. The channel only had one broadcast on channel 45 UHF using an EMC Model TXRU-100 UHF transmitter purchased by the teenaged operator at a local church yard sale. The church had supposedly planned to use the transmitter for it's own channel that never came to fruition. The channel was shut down after being located by broadcast authorities.
Logo (Late 1970s)
This logo is currently missing in action. Please do not add reconstructions of the logo if any exist, as they are likely not accurate to the actual logo. Additionally, do not attempt to add a finalized description of the logo until it has been found in its entirety. |
Visuals: A water gun with "WGUN-45 TV" scratched onto the side mounted on an old record player.
Technique: Live-action.
Audio: An unknown record by Baja Marimba Band.
Availability: The source for the existence of the station is an article by Shannon Huniwell in issue #27 of Popular Communications magazine titled "The Church rummage sale UHF TV Channel and other Minor TV Tales". The article is cited on the Pirate Television Wikipedia page.
