Background

WYZ was a pirate television channel in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, that broadcast at nights on weekends from 1979 to 1981.

(1979-1981)

Logo:

  • Intro: On a blue backdrop, the letters "WYZ" in a rocky font and yellow colour is shown. Behind them, a yellow, diagonal line surrounded by fireworks and stars. Below it is the text "MIDNIGHT" in red, "T.V." in yellow, and "STATION" in red.
  • Outro: "WYZ", consisting of a yellow "W", black "Y", and yellow "Z" linked together in the shape of a television antenna, is shown on a white background. On the tail of the "Y" is the text "Einde", with the first "E" using the tail of the "Y". To the right of it is an orange star.

Technique: None.

Audio:

Availability: The intro can be seen on "WYZ op de markt" and the outro was seen at the end of a broadcast of Saturday Night Fever by the channel.
