Background

Warner Advanced Media Operations (WAMO) was the DVD manufacturing unit of WEA International (today Warner Music Group), at the time a division of TimeWarner (now part of Warner Bros. Discovery. The company was founded in 1991 as a Laserdisc manufacturing facility, before moving on to DVD production in the late 1990s, and with that they developed some of the first DVDs. In 2003, WAMO, along with its parent company WEA Manufacturing, was sold to Cinram International. The two companies would remain as the property of Cinram until they declared bankruptcy in 2012, eventually to be bought by Technicolor three years later.

• 

Logo: On a black/blue scrolling background with a yellow moving line and semi-transparent binary digits, we see the outline of the word "wamo". The word then moves on to the outline. A line fades in below the logo. Under this, "WARNER ADVANCED MEDIA OPERATIONS" and "MULTIMEDIA CENTER" (and the DVD logo) fades in.

Variants:

• A still version exists. This version has the "WARNER ADVANCED MEDIA OPERATIONS" text in blue-white, the "MULTIMEDIA CENTER" text slightly less spaced and in white, adds "Compression, Authoring & Design Services" below the logo. This version was seen on the UK DVDs of The Mummy, Mystery Men, The Sting, Small Soldiers, About a Boy, American Pie, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas, along with most other Universal UK DVDs from the time distributed by Columbia Tristar. It was also found on the American DVD releases of Born on the Fourth of July and Possession.
• There is also a variant of the still version without "Compression, Authoring & Design Services" and the DVD logo below, "WARNER ADVANCED MEDIA OPERATIONS" in yellow, and "MULTIMEDIA CENTER" in white. This version was seen on the UK DVD of The Land Before Time IX: Journey to Big Water.

FX/SFX: The moving and fading. None for the still version.

Music/Sounds: Just a whoosh sound.

Music/Sounds Variant: The still version is silent.

Availability: Fairly common. The still version is common on older UK and Australian Universal DVDs from Columbia Tristar Home Entertainment, such as the region 4 DVD release of Notting Hill.

• It was seen on Artisan Entertainment releases such as The Eagle Has Landed, Wagons East!, Dirty Dancing: Special Edition, Terminator 2: Ultimate Edition, Beyond the Law, Ticker, The Minus Man, Hot Boyz, Lonesome Dove, Startup.com, Dr. T and the Women, Good Advice, and Soul Survivors: The Killer Cut.
• It was also used on releases from New Line Home Video such as the Platinum Series edition of Se7en, Mr. Nanny, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze, as well as the first four A Nightmare on Elm Street films.
