1st Warning (1981-2006)

Variants:

Around 1981-1982, the warning text was on a simple static screen.
Around 1983, the warning text started scrolling for the first time. The text was also expanded.
Around the time Warner started offering its cassettes for sale in the UK, another variant appeared with different text scrolling at a faster rate. Also, a duplication screen appears before it.
When the EEC became the EU in 1993, this warning screen was changed to match the renaming.

Availability: Seen on British tapes and DVDs, including Superman 2, A Fistful of Dollars, and Camelot. Until 1986, the warning appeared at the start of the tape. After that, it only appeared at the end. One of the last releases to have it at the front is the rental VHS of Police Academy 2: Their First Assignment.

2nd Warning (1998-)

Visuals: On a black background, we see the following text:

'WARNING The copyright proprietor has licensed this DVD (including its soundtrack) for private home use only. All other rights are reserved. The definition of home use excludes the use of this DVD at locations such as clubs, coaches, hospitals, hotels, oil rigs, prisons and schools. Variant: On early DVDs, such as South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut, have "UK AND IRELAND" replace "WARNING". The warning text is also arranged differently.

Visuals: Same as the 2nd warning, bar the following differences:

The background is sky blue.
The text is rearranged, especially the words "ATTENTION" and "WARNER HOME VIDEO" are black underlined and are bigger.
Everything is in black color and in Bookman Old Style.

Variant: On some releases, "E.D.V.4-D.I.V.4" fades in at the bottom of the screen.
