Background

Warthog plc was founded in Stockport, England by a group of ex-Electronic Arts employees in 1997. Later, the company started to take over some studios like Atod AB (Warthog Sweden), Fever Pitch (Warthog Texas) and Zed Two. In 2004, Warthog itself was purchased by Gizmondo and folded along with it soon. Key staff then formed a company that is now known as TT Fusion, a part of TT Games.

1st Logo (June 29, 2000-January 30, 2004)

Visuals: On a black background, there is a 3D golden picture of a running boar with a light streak on its hoof. Below is the word "WARTHOG" made in a custom font.

Variant:

  • On some games like Star Trek: Invasion, there is an angry brown boar coming and crashing through the logo, making angry grunt noises. Then it jumps into us, causing the screen to turn black.
  • On WBIE's Tom and Jerry in Mouse Attacks for GBC and WBIE's Looney Tunes: Back in Action for GBA, the logo is still.

Technique: None, or CGI.

Audio: None. The variant has the sounds of the boar grunting.

2nd Logo (Tom and Jerry in House Trap custom variant) (November 24, 2000-September 19, 2002)

Visuals: There is a parody of the 1953 MGM Cartoons intro screen. The lion is replaced by a cartoon boar, who roars, turns left and exhales air from its nose, causing smoke to come out and drift off the screen and then winks. On the color string below, the usual word "TECHNICOLOR" is replaced with "HOGCOLOR". No more indication about the company name is seen.

Technique: Traditional 2D animation.

Audio: The lion's roar from the usual MGM intro, followed by the boar exhaling.

Availability: Seen only on Tom & Jerry in House Trap for PlayStation.

3rd Logo (June 17, 2003-October 14, 2005)

Visuals: On a black background, the familiar boar from the 1st logo fades in blue, surrounded by rays of light. Then, the white word "WARTHOG" in its usual font fades in below the picture, with the light exhausting on its sides.

Technique: Light effects around the pig and the word.
